This year, the theme is <strong>\u2018mental health is a universal human right\u2019<\/strong>. As espoused by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/campaigns\/world-mental-health-day\/2023\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">World Health Organisation<\/a> \u2014 <em>\u201cEveryone, whoever and wherever they are, has a right to the highest attainable standard of mental health. A study by <a href=\"https:\/\/relate.com.my\/the-business-costs-of-mental-health\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Relate Malaysia<\/a> found that in 2018, 4.57 million working adults reported mental health issues, with 29% of employees indicating that they have poor mental health.\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aia.com.my\/content\/dam\/my\/en\/docs\/press-releases\/2019\/Press%20Release_Malaysias%20Healthiest%20Workplace%202019_Malaysian%20Workforce%20Sleepless%20and%20Overworked%20_ENG_website.pdf\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Malaysia\u2019s Healthiest Workplace survey by AIA Vitality<\/a> also reported that in 2019, the Malaysian workforce was increasingly sleep deprived and overworked, with 51% of them suffering from at least one dimension of work-related stress and 53% getting less than seven hours of sleep per day. Spending quality time with the people they love and doing the things they enjoy will help them feel refreshed and recharged, ready to get back to work after.
