What do we stand to lose? What do we stand to gain? What are the expected impacts and enhancements?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We asked these questions, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Top findings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>HR leaders reveal the top three use cases of AI: better analytics (32%), faster and more efficient operations (30%), and smoother HR processes (28%). HR professionals can benefit from the many hats AI can offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AI is already here. 85% of HR leaders are already harnessing AI-powered software, giving them a glittering competitive edge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over two-thirds (64%) of respondents believe AI saves time and makes their jobs easier. More than half (55%) anticipate a transformative AI revolution in HR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the push for AI-readiness, the essential skills identified by UK leaders are: data analysis\/HR analytics (36%), soft skills (31%), ethical and responsible AI use (26%), and data security (24%). The key to success lies in balancing humanity and technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UK HR leaders anticipate an AI surge, with over half (55%) envisioning increased adoption. But a measured approach prevails, with 40% foreseeing a gradual rise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How is AI impacting HR in the UK?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While the backdrop for big AI experimentation and regulation might be prickling the population&#8217;s heckles, early adopters of AI features are seeing things differently. The employment landscape for UK businesses is tough right now, but our research tells us that with the potential AI offers HR leaders, the cautious fire of optimism is burning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amongst the fallout of the great resignation, turnover contagion and the ongoing talent war waged between small businesses and enterprises alike \u2014 not to mention the continuing cost-of-living crisis we&#8217;re up against \u2014 it could be easy to miss that AI adoption has already started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From daily discussions and learning on LinkedIn feeds to the wider use and acknowledgement of generative AI such as <a href=\"https:\/\/chat.openai.com\/\">ChatGPT<\/a> to new features being added to everyday tools such as <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.microsoft.com\/blog\/2023\/02\/07\/reinventing-search-with-a-new-ai-powered-microsoft-bing-and-edge-your-copilot-for-the-web\/\">Bing<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.google\/products\/search\/generative-ai-search\/\">Google<\/a> search, let alone HR software! How we work, interact with information and run our businesses is changing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The UK has embraced the development of AI technology, with our government recognising AI as a significant opportunity for economic growth and has actively sought to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/technology\/2023\/may\/31\/uk-should-play-leading-role-in-developing-ai-global-guidelines-sunak-to-tell-biden\">position the UK as a leader<\/a> in AI research and innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There&#8217;s early optimism sprinkled with a large dash of reservation around how AI can help HR leaders, from excitement around analytics to concerns around skills gaps. To help you understand how AI is affecting the world of HR and small businesses in the UK, we polled 300 HR leaders in small and large businesses alike in May 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The findings might surprise you, resonate with you\u200c or give you a keen insight into the <em>what, where, how and why <\/em>of AI in HR right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We hope this report helps you better understand this emerging landscape and gives you some transparency on how AI is going to affect and transform small businesses in the years to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>The team at 91±¬ΑΟ&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What\u2019s inside the report?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We carried out quantitative research with 301 HR leaders in the United Kingdom. Respondents were primarily responsible for Employee Experience, Human Resources and Payroll.
