About the Role
As a Skilled Civil Operator, you’ll be involved in delivering a wide range of civil construction projects throughout Canterbury. You’ll operate plant and equipment, assist with civil construction activities, and work alongside an experienced team that takes pride in producing high-quality work safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a range of civil construction plant and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Carry out civil construction works to a high standard.
- Install kerb and channel.
- Complete concrete boxing, formwork and finishing.
- Perform drainage, earthworks and general civil construction duties.
- Operate hand and power tools safely.
- Work effectively both independently and within a team.
- Maintain plant and equipment to company standards.
- Follow company safety procedures and contribute to a positive safety culture.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and fellow team members.
- Take pride in producing quality workmanship on every project.
What We’re Looking For
The successful applicant will have:

Minimum two years’ experience in civil construction.

Proven experience operating mobile plant and machinery.
- Wheels, Tracks and Rollers (WTR) endorsements.
- Class 4 Driver Licence (preferred).
- Experience with kerb and channel installation and concrete works.
- Strong understanding of safe work practices.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work well within a team.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent work ethic and reliability.
- Site Safe Passport (advantageous).
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
