ABOUT K’AUTE PASIFIKA

K’aute Pasifika Trust is a well known Hamilton based community oriented organisation that is focused on supporting individuals and their families make meaningful changes to enhance their health and wellbeing. It is currently working through a transition period to deliver its services in new and different ways, through a new multi-disciplinary and multi-team approach. The new delivery model is strategically anchored and strongly outcome oriented and is focused on the organisation having a more integrated approach internally and also working collaboratively with complementary external delivery partners.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As part of this refresh, we are creating two new functional manager positions within the Service Delivery team, each advertised separately:

  • Manager Intake and Assessment (this role); and
  • Manager Service Delivery.

Both roles will report to the newly established General Manager Service Delivery and will work closely together to ensure a seamless experience for aiga (families) from referral through to assessment, planning and delivery.

This role has been created to lead the intake and assessment function across K’aute Pasifika, ensuring referrals are triaged, assessed and progressed through a timely, consistent, culturally anchored and safe process. You will provide functional leadership at the front door of our services, supporting appropriate access, effective service flow, and a clear, coordinated handover into planning and delivery, working closely with the Manager Service Delivery to ensure aiga move smoothly from referral through to ongoing support.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a hands on operational leadership role at the front line of service access. It will require strong clinical and/or practice informed capability to oversee risk, complexity, escalation and safe decision making at the point of entry, along with the ability to manage referral flow, demand, capacity and workflow to minimise delays and support timely access for aiga. You will use referral and assessment data to monitor trends, demand and performance, and lead continuous improvement of intake systems, tools and operating procedures to strengthen quality, consistency and timeliness.

ABOUT YOU

To be considered for this role, you must have proven experience operating at a leadership level, with accountability for the performance, quality and outcomes of an intake, assessment or front-end service function within a health or social services environment. A relevant tertiary qualification in health, social services or a related field is required, and professional registration in a relevant discipline (such as Social Work, Nursing, Counselling or Psychology) is preferred.

You must be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of Pasifika people, and their cultures and values, along with strong relationship management skills to support clear referral pathways and coordinated entry into services. It is essential that you bring strong communication and leadership capability, sound judgement in managing risk and complexity, and have shown that you can build staff capability in assessment practice and cultural responsiveness.

WHY JOIN US

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced health or social services leader to take on a newly created role, and to play a key part in the strategic transformation and ongoing development of an organisation with significant aspirations for its future.
