Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our dynamic team in East Tamaki, Auckland.

In this permanent, full-time role within the Electronics manufacturing industry, you will play a crucial part in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support business decisions. Your expertise will contribute significantly to the financial health and operational efficiency of our business.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with New Zealand accounting standards.
  • Provide financial oversight and analysis of inventory, product costing, and margins, ensuring the accuracy of inventory valuation and COGS while delivering insights that support profitability, commercial decision-making, and operational performance
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of accounts and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing analysis and recommendations based on financial data.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance, identifying trends and variances to inform management decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in the preparation of tax returns.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
  • Support the external audit process by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and best practices within the manufacturing sector.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in a financial accounting role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of New Zealand accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
