Smart Environmental Ltd is seeking a reliable and motivated Waste Minimisation Operator to join our supportive team in Richmond.

Smart Environmental Ltd works on behalf of local councils, businesses, and communities, providing rubbish and recycling collection services. As part of Blue Planet, with a large fleet of collection vehicles and linehaul operations, our mission is to divert waste from landfill and create more sustainable communities.

About the Role

This role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the site, including yard operations, customer service, and diverting material to the appropriate sections of the site. No two days are the same. You’ll help maintain a safe and tidy site, assist customers, process transactions, support recycling activities.

Working 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Wednesday to Sunday, this permanent full-time position offers secure, consistent hours, the opportunity to make a real difference in your local community, and the support of a friendly and collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Liaising with staff
  • Diverting material to the appropriate allocated section on the site
  • Manual handling
  • Eftpos and Cash handling
  • RRC Kiosk Processing Operation
  • Basic computer operation
  • Hazzard Chemical Sorting

About You

  • Full Class 1 Driver Licence (essential)
  • Forklift licenses are required
  • Waste or recycling experience not required but beneficial
  • Excellent communication, customer service skills and team contributor
  • Great problem solver and confident with technology
  • Available to work on public holidays and weekends
