Due to continued growth, we’re looking for an experienced Demolition Operator to join our specialist team.

About the Role

You’ll primarily work within our specialist Demolition Division, operating excavators and specialised demolition attachments across a diverse range of commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects.

Our work includes:

• Commercial and industrial demolition

• Structural demolition

• Bridge and infrastructure demolition

• Selective demolition and deconstruction

• Concrete processing and recycling

• Site clearance and remediation

• Emergency response works

As part of the wider Taggart Group, you’ll also have the opportunity to support our Civil Division across earthworks, drainage and infrastructure projects when required. This variety provides ongoing development and the chance to work on some of the South Island’s most interesting construction projects.

What You’ll Bring

• Has proven experience operating excavators in demolition environments.

• Understands demolition sequencing, structural behaviour and safe work practices.

• Operates machinery safely, smoothly and efficiently.

• Takes pride in maintaining plant and equipment to a high standard.

• Thinks ahead, solves problems and adapts to changing site conditions.

• Communicates effectively with Supervisors, Ground Crew and clients.

• Enjoys working as part of a professional, high-performing team.

• Is committed to continuous improvement.

Skills & Qualifications

• NZ Class 2 or Class 4 Driver Licence.

• Wheels, Tracks & Rollers (WTR) endorsement.

• Experience operating demolition attachments including hydraulic breakers, pulverisers, shears and grapples.

• Site Safe Passport.

• Experience working around live underground and overhead services.

• First Aid Certificate (preferred).
