We are looking for an experienced and proactive Safety Advisor to support our Commercial division. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining high safety standards, enjoys working with diverse site teams, and is confident driving WHS initiatives across multiple projects.

About the Role

Reporting to the National Safety Manager, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our sites operate safely and in line with legislation, internal systems, and industry best practice. You’ll work closely with Supervisors, Construction Managers, trades and subcontractors to provide guidance, support and hands on safety leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage WHS and Environmental Management Systems, including SWMS, using our in‑field app and industry‑leading software.
  • Develop site‑specific WHS Management Plans for High‑Risk and Major & Complex Claims projects
  • Provide WHS reporting, advice and support to trades, Supervisors, Construction Managers, Project Managers and senior leadership
  • Identify WHS training needs for staff and subcontractors
  • Assist with subcontractor documentation reviews and safety inductions
  • Complete incident reporting and investigation.
  • Drive continuous improvement across all safety processes and system.
  • Conduct staff and subcontractor safety induction.
  • Lead and audit Toolbox Talk.
  • Complete and audit onsite risk assessments and hazard identificatio.
  • Implement risk mitigation strategies and monitoring procedures
  • Participate in construction meetings to provide safety updates and legislative guidanc.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant WHS legislation, policies and procedures

Skills & Experience

  • Certificate IV or higher in Work Health & Safety
  • Experience in a similar WHS role within the construction industry
  • Strong understanding of WHS Management Systems, hazard identification and risk management
  • High‑level computer skills across mobile devices, WHS/repair management systems and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to confidently use iPads, iPhones and computer‑based technology
  • Excellent organisation, time management and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and support teams
  • Knowledge of WHS Acts, Regulations, Codes of Practice, Australian Standards and guidance materials
  • Construction General Induction Card (White Card)
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Energetic, proactive and solutions‑focused approach
