About the RoleÌý

As a Disability Support Worker,Ìýyou’llÌýhelp participants build independence, develop life skills, connect with their communities, and work towards their personal and employment goals.ÌýYou’llÌýbe supporting participants across Newcastle,ÌýMaitlandÌýand the Central Coast.Ìý

We’reÌýparticularly interested in candidates with experience supporting people with complex needs andÌýhigh intensityÌýsupports, as well as those who are passionate about building confidence, developing skills and achieving positive outcomes.Ìý

We welcome applications from experienced support workers and people with transferable skills gained in aged care, youth work, mental health, employment services, community services, customerÌýserviceÌýor other people-focused roles.Ìý

You’llÌýneed a valid driver’s licence and reliable private vehicle to travel between sites.Ìý

What You’ll BringÌý

We welcome both experienced support workers and those new to the industry. Hands-on training and ongoing support will be provided.Ìý

Preferred Qualifications and ExperienceÌý

  • A genuine passion for supporting people with disability to achieve their personal, social and employment goals.Ìý
  • Ability to positively engage participants, build motivation, increaseÌýconfidenceÌýand support people who may experience anxiety or social barriers.Ìý
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ìý
  • Good computer skills, including confidence using email, MicrosoftÌýOfficeÌýand participant management systems.Ìý
  • Experience supporting people with disability, mental health challenges, or individuals experiencing barriers to employment (beneficial but not essential).Ìý
  • Experience providingÌýComplex or High Intensity Supports, or relevant training in high-intensity support requirements, is highly regarded.Ìý
  • Understanding of the NDIS.Ìý
  • First Aid accreditation.Ìý
  • Cert III in Community Services, Youth Work, Disability or similar.Ìý
  • High attention to detail and ability toÌýmaintainÌýaccurateÌýrecords.Ìý
  • Flexibility and availability to work shifts betweenÌý7:00am and 8:00pm, based on participant needs.Ìý
