About the RoleÌý

The successful candidate will deliver safe, trauma-informed, and identity-affirmingÌýsupportsÌýwhile fostering emotionally safe and respectful environments for participants from diverse lived experiences.Ìý

Key ResponsibilitiesÌý

Inclusive Nursing & Participant SupportsÌý

  • Deliver respectful and affirming nursing supports to LGBTQIA+ participantsÌýÌý
  • MaintainÌýappropriate useÌýof chosen names, pronouns, and identitiesÌýÌý
  • Support participants experiencing:ÌýÌý
  • Psychosocial disabilityÌýÌý
  • TraumaÌýÌý
  • Social isolationÌýÌý
  • Mental health challengesÌýÌý
  • Complex support needsÌýÌý
  • AssistÌýparticipants with medication administration, personal care, and daily living supportsÌýÌý
  • Promote participant wellbeing, dignity, and emotional safetyÌýÌý
  • Foster inclusive andÌýnon-judgementalÌýsupport environmentsÌýÌý

Clinical Nursing SupportsÌý

  • AssistÌýwith delegated clinical supports including:ÌýÌý
  • Wound careÌýÌý
  • PEG feedingÌýassistanceÌýÌý
  • Continence managementÌýÌý
  • Bowel careÌýÌý
  • Medication monitoringÌýÌý
  • Diabetes monitoringÌýÌý
  • Pressure careÌýÌý
  • Monitor participant wellbeing and clinical presentationsÌýÌý
  • Escalate concerns and incidents appropriatelyÌýÌý
  • Support infection control and workplace safety proceduresÌýÌý

Participant-CentredÌý& Community SupportsÌý

  • Support participants to engage in community access and social participationÌýÌý
  • Encourage participant independence and confidence-buildingÌýÌý
  • Support participant self-expression and autonomyÌýÌý
  • Promote strengths-based and trauma-informed support approachesÌýÌý

Compliance & DocumentationÌý

  • MaintainÌýaccurateÌýprogress notes and participant recordsÌýÌý
  • Complete incident reporting and clinical documentationÌýÌý
  • Ensure all supports align with NDIS standards andÌýorganisationalÌývaluesÌýÌý
  • Participate in audits, reviews, and continuous improvement initiativesÌýÌý
  • Maintain participant confidentiality and culturally safe practicesÌýÌý

Essential CriteriaÌý

  • Diploma of NursingÌýÌý
  • Current AHPRA Registration as an Enrolled NurseÌýÌý
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening CheckÌýÌý
  • Current First Aid & CPRÌýÌý
  • Strong understanding of inclusive and trauma-informed careÌýÌý

  • Experience supporting LGBTQIA+ communitiesÌýÌý
  • Mental health or psychosocial disability experienceÌýÌý
  • Experience supporting neurodivergent participantsÌýÌý
  • Understanding of minority stress and intersectionality
