About the RoleÌý
We are seeking an experiencedÌýFemale Disability Support WorkerÌýto provide support to anÌý18-year-old female clientÌýinÌýTelopea, NSW. This is a casual position. The clientÌýpresentsÌýa range of mental health challenges, including self-harm, suicidal ideation, and other complex behavioral issues. The role will involve supporting the client inÌýanÌýNDIS setting, promoting independence, and ensuring safety while managing challenging behaviors.Ìý

The role requires you toÌýassistÌýthe client with daily living tasks, provide emotional support, manage behaviors such asÌýself-harm, suicidal ideation, intimidation, and sexually inappropriate behaviors, and help her access the community in a safe and supported way.Ìý
Key ResponsibilitiesÌý
- ProvideÌýcommunity access supportÌýand assist the client with engaging in daily activities.Ìý
- Manage challenging behaviors, includingÌýself-harm,Ìýsuicidal ideation,Ìýthreats/intimidation, andÌýsexually inappropriate behaviorsÌýasÌýrequired.Ìý
- Engage with the client in meaningful conversation and provide emotional support to build rapport and trust.Ìý
- AssistÌýin managing and navigating the client’s mental health needs.Ìý
About YouÌý
To succeed in this role, you should bring the following:Ìý

Experience working with youthÌýand individuals withÌýmental health disabilities.Ìý
- Proven ability to manageÌýcomplex behaviors, including self-harm, suicidal ideation, intimidation, and sexually inappropriate behaviors.Ìý

- A strong ability to engage and support the client emotionally, with a focus on building trust and rapport.Ìý
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the client’s needs in unpredictable situations.Ìý

At least Certificate III in Community Service, or an equivalent qualificationÌý
- MinimumÌý2 years’ experienceÌýin Disability Support or similar rolesÌý
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment checksÌý
