Description

Cropline Group is seeking applications from experienced and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanics to join our Welshpool workshop team.

As a proudly Western Australian owned and operated transport and logistics business, Cropline Group supports the agricultural, mining, dangerous goods and bulk commodity sectors through its operating divisions, including Cropline Haulage, Bulkline Haulage, and Independent Grain Handlers.

Operating from our Welshpool workshop, this role is responsible for maintaining a modern and diverse fleet of prime movers, trailers and ancillary equipment to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operations across Western Australia.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their workmanship, values safety, and enjoys diagnosing and repairing faults to keep equipment operating at its best.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will play a critical role in maintaining fleet availability by carrying out servicing, repairs, fault diagnosis, preventative maintenance and breakdown response activities across the Cropline Group fleet.

Our fleet operates across a range of industries and environments, providing exposure to a variety of equipment and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy vehicles and trailers
  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults
  • Conduct engine, drivetrain, suspension, steering and braking system repairs
  • Carry out roadworthy inspections and defect rectification
  • Respond to breakdowns and assist with field service requirements when required
  • Complete maintenance documentation, service records and inspection reports accurately
  • Maintain workshop equipment and work areas in a safe and serviceable condition
  • Participate in pre-start meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company, legislative and client requirements
  • Promote a strong safety culture through hazard identification, reporting and safe work practices

What We’re Looking For

  • Cert III Heavy Vehicle Road Transport, Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
  • 5+ years proven experience as a Heavy HV Mechanic
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Experience maintaining prime movers and trailer combinations
  • Sound knowledge of braking, suspension, hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Effective communication and time management skills
  • Current WA Driver’s Licence
  • HC or MC Licence highly regarded
  • Forklift Licence (LF) desirable but not essential
  • Self-motivated and productive individual with a high regard for safe work practises
