Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Clerk to join The Dental Group Finance Team, with a primary focus on Accounts Payable, Payroll processing, and financial data management.

This role is well-suited to someone who is organised, efficient, and comfortable handling high-volume transaction processing across multiple entities. Experience with Xero, AP processes, and payroll is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable (Primary Focus)

  • Process supplier invoices, including verification, coding, and tracking approvals
  • Manage supplier payment runs and maintain accurate payment records
  • Handle supplier queries and maintain good vendor relationships
  • Maintain supplier master data and verify new supplier details

Payroll Processing

  • Process payroll accurately and on-schedule
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
  • Assist with payroll-related reporting, superannuation and PAYG obligations
  • Respond to employee payroll enquiries

Financial Data & Administration

  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate financial records in Xero
  • Assist with basic journals and invoice processing
  • Process employee expense claims
  • Support the finance team with general administrative tasks
  • Assist with other account team tasks when required

Systems & Compliance

  • Ensure all financial data is handled confidentially
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Assist in improving processes and reporting efficiency

Qualification, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Proficiency in Xero
  • Strong data accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good Excel skills (e.g. VLOOKUP, basic reporting)
  • Ability to utilise AI tools
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
  • Good communication skills

Desirable

  • Accounting / Finance qualification (Certificate or Diploma)
  • Experience working across multiple entities
  • Good understanding of Australian payroll, superannuation, and GST
