Diabetes Victoria is seeking a Project Coordinator to support the ongoing updates and enhancements of theÌýLife!Ìýprogram, Australia’s largest diabetes prevention program.Ìý

Ìý

Working within the Prevention and Health Promotion team, this role will support the Innovation and Program Development Team LeadÌýin reviewing and improvingÌýLife!Ìýprogram materials, ensuring resources are clear, accessible, culturally inclusive,Ìýand responsive to the needs of Victoria’s diverse communities at risk of type 2 diabetes.Ìý

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong project coordination, research,Ìýcommunication, and stakeholder engagement skills who is passionate about health promotion, healthÌýliteracy, and improving community health outcomes.Ìý

Ìý

Key Responsibilities:Ìý

  • Support the review and enhancement ofÌýLife!Ìýprogram materials to ensure content isÌýaccurate, clear,ÌýaccessibleÌýandÌýappropriate forÌýpeople with varying levels of health literacy.Ìý
  • Translate complex health information into plain English whileÌýpreserving the content’s integrity and intent.Ìý
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, referenceÌýgroupsÌýand internal stakeholders to ensure materials are evidence-informed and responsive to priority populations.Ìý
  • CoordinateÌýwith internal and external stakeholders, such as graphic designers, photographers, illustrators, printers, and marketing and communications team members.Ìý
  • Coordinate meetings, timelines and project documentation to ensure outputs are delivered within scope,ÌýtimelinesÌýand quality standards.Ìý
  • Coordinate community consultation activities to ensure program updates are informed by lived experience, communityÌýneedsÌýand preferences.Ìý
  • Conduct rapid evidence scans andÌýmonitorÌýbest practice to support ongoing program improvement.Ìý

ABOUT YOUÌý

You will be a strong communicator with excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. You will enjoy working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and be confident in coordinating projects,Ìýresources, and activities to support high-quality outcomes.Ìý

You will also have an interest in evidence-based health promotion, healthÌýliteracy, and inclusive practice, with an understanding of the importance of developing resources that are accessible, culturallyÌýrelevant, and responsive to diverse community needs.Ìý

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in health promotion, public health, health sciences, project management,ÌýcommunicationsÌýor a related field.Ìý
  • Demonstrated research and reporting skills, with the ability to interpret evidence and prepare high-quality written materials.Ìý
  • Understanding of evidence-based health promotion practice, health literacyÌýprinciples, and the importance of accessible, plain-English communication.Ìý
  • Strong project coordination, timeÌýmanagementÌýand organisational skills, with the ability to work independently, take initiative and manage competing priorities.Ìý
  • Well-developed written, verbal and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.Ìý
  • An understanding of the needs of culturally and linguistically diverse communities, with experience in inclusive resource development, co-design or community consultation highly regarded.Ìý
