About the Role
As a Project Manager at Digital61, you won’t just be running projects, you’ll be accountable for delivering complex, high‑risk, and strategically significant initiatives that matter. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you’ll shape delivery approaches, establish governance, and influence outcomes across technical teams, customers, and executives.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Owning the definition, documentation, governance, and delivery of complex projects from initiation through to transition into BAU
- Selecting and tailoring appropriate project management methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall, hybrid) based on client requirements, context and risk
- Managing scope, cost, schedule, quality, resources, benefits, risks, and dependencies
- Establishing and maintaining strong project governance, reporting, escalation, and assurance mechanisms
- Acting as the primary engagement and escalation point for senior stakeholders and customers
- Proactively identifying and managing risks, issues, and interdependencies
- Leading delivery teams to achieve outcomes through collaboration, accountability, and clarity
- Supporting business readiness, change, adoption, and benefits realisation
- Contributing to continuous improvement of project management practices and capability maturity
- Providing authoritative advice to senior leaders on delivery approach, feasibility, and risk
What You’ll Bring
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex projects using formal project management methodologies
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including customer‑facing and executive level
- Ability to operate independently while influencing across multiple teams and functions
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- High levels of organisation, resilience, and professionalism
- A strong customer‑outcome and value‑delivery mindset
- You are invested, accountable, and take pride in what you deliver, both as an individual and as part of the wider team.Â
Qualifications & Experience
- Formal qualification in Project Management (e.g. Masters, Degree, Diploma of Project Management, PRINCE2, Agile, PMP or equivalent)
- Professional certification (e.g. AIPM) highly regarded
Security & Work Requirements
To be eligible for this role, you must:
- Be an Australian citizen
- Hold or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Baseline or higher AGSVA security clearance
