What you will doÌý

We currently have an opportunity for an Appointed Director to join ourÌýBoard, for a term of up to threeÌýyears. The Director role is a strategic position within ESSA, responsible for governing the organisation.Ìý

What youÌýwill bringÌý

We are ideally seeking candidates with priorÌýinvolvementÌýon a significant not-for-profit board or equivalent experience.ÌýOur new Board Director will have extensive experience in one or more ofÌýour priorityÌýareas:ÌýÌý

  • ExpertiseÌýin technology, AI, and innovationÌýÌý
  • Finance and accountingÌý
  • Legal, regulatory and complianceÌý
  • Commercial and business strategyÌý

Applicants must be eligible to be appointed as a Director in AustraliaÌýin accordance withÌýASICÌýandÌýACNCÌýstipulations.ÌýNew Directors will be supported to attend the AICD Foundations of Directorship Course to upskill their governance knowledgeÌýifÌýrequired.Ìý

What youÌýwill commit toÌý

  • Attendance at Board meetingsÌýapproximately everyÌýsecond month, primarily on the fourth Friday of the month
  • Participation in a Board Committee, if appointed
  • Attendance at Board strategic workshops,Ìý~1 per year heldÌýin personÌýover 1-2 days
  • Attendance at annual general meeting, which may be held in-person or online once per year
  • Attendance at annual major eventÌý(conference/forum) atÌývarying locations throughout Australia
  • Out of session work e.g. reading, discussions, voting and extraordinary meetings (approximately 2-4Ìýdays per month)

The roleÌýisÌýmodestlyÌýremuneratedÌýfrom an aggregated annualÌýremunerationÌýpool (indexed annually) payable to all ESSAÌýDirectorsÌýand all related expenses are paid.ÌýÌý
