Description

We are seeking a number of Specialist Family Violence Practitioners within our Crisis and Case Management Services! These roles are at SCHADS Level 5.1-5.3 ($103,799 – $108,502) pro rata, plus 12% superannuation and up to $15,990 salary packaging. These roles are available full-time or part-time (0.9 FTE).Ìý

About the role

As a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner, you will be responsible for the delivery of family violence case management support to victim survivors (including children) of family violence. You will develop case plans that address victim survivor risk and the impact that family violence has had on their lives.

Ìý

The Practitioner is required to work within a trauma-informed practice environment and will think creatively about how to increase the safety of victim survivors (including children), ensuring their support needs are met.

Ìý

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing and supporting an agreed number of cases, that consist of developing and reviewing case plans that reflect client goals within expected service delivery timelines, including crisis, brief and longer-term responses.
  • Undertaking comprehensive risk assessment and safety planning using the tools contained within the Family Violence Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (MARAM).
  • Providing information to victim survivors of family violence to support them in understanding the service system and navigating barriers to assistance.
  • Providing crisis support and advocacy for victim survivors experiencing family violence.
  • Explaining client rights and responsibilities in regard to limited confidentiality and informs clients when risk indicates that information sharing with specific services or authorities is required.
  • Assisting in service and justice system navigation and undertaking advocacy on behalf of victim survivors to mitigate gaps in service response.
  • Facilitating multidisciplinary cross team work to document, implement, monitor and modify case management plans designed to address the ongoing needs of victim survivors.

About you

Essential

  • Tertiary qualifications in social work as per the Minimum Mandatory Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in the family violence or community services sector.
  • Proven experience and knowledge of theoretical models and frameworks relevant to family violence and sexual assault
  • Proven experience in collaborating effectively within a team, cross-functional and with external agencies
  • Strong ability to exercise initiative and judgement in complex situations
  • Demonstrate high quality written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven abilities to operate effectively within a complex and fast-paced environment
  • Experience with meeting KPI’s and targets
  • Skilled with building collaborative relationships
  • Working with Children’s check
  • Police check (and international police check if lived overseas for a year or more in the last 10 years)
