About the role
We areÌýseekingÌýa highly skilled and motivatedÌýFibre FTTP DesignerÌýto join our dynamic team. In this role, you willÌýbe responsible forÌýdesigning and planning Fibre to the Premises (FTTP)ÌýaccessÌýnetworks that deliver high-speed connectivity to homes and businesses.ÌýYou’llÌýplay a critical part in shaping the future of digital infrastructure.Ìý
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in telecommunications infrastructure, particularly fibre optic networks, and willÌýbe responsible forÌýensuring that all design outputs meet technicalÌýandÌýregulatoryÌýrequirements.Ìý

Key Responsibilities:Ìý
- Monitor and train subcontractors to deliver high quality designsÌý
- DriveÌýdesignÌýoutcomes with subcontracting teams (drafters)Ìý
- Design and plan FTTP networks using GIS and CAD toolsÌý
- Conduct site surveys and feasibility assessmentsÌýwhenÌýrequiredÌýÌý
- Prepare detailed design documentation, including splicing plans and cable routesÌý
- Collaborate with property, construction, and project management teamsÌý
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards,Ìýincluding design rules and AustralianÌýtelecommunications regulations.Ìý
- Provide technical support during implementation and troubleshootingÌý
- Stay current with emerging fibre technologies and design methodologiesÌý
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies asÌýrequired.Ìý
- Liaise with construction teams to ensure design intent isÌýmaintainedÌýduring build.Ìý
- MaintainÌýaccurateÌýdocumentation and reporting for all design activities.Ìý
Required Qualifications & Experience:Ìý
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Civil Engineering, or related field.Ìý2-5Ìýyears of experience in fibre network designÌý
- Strong understanding of FTTP technologiesÌýÌý
- ProficiencyÌýin GIS and CAD software (e.g.,ÌýVisio,ÌýAutoCAD,ÌýGIS,ÌýMapInfo,ÌýSpatialNET).Ìý
- Excellent communication skillsÌý
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.Ìý
- Knowledge of WHS and environmental compliance in infrastructure projects.Ìý
Desirable:Ìý
Experience with other technologies (FTTC, FTTN, HFC, GFAST).ÌýÌý
