Description

We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Apprentice – Conservation and Ecosystem Management to join our team working across diverse ecosystems throughout Sydney region. This is a dynamic, field-based role where no two days are the same.

About the role:

You will play a key role in protecting and enhancing natural environments across council-managed lands, including mountain tracks and conservation areas throughout the Logan region. This involves working across a variety of landscapes, from bushland reserves and steep terrain to waterways and high-use recreational trails, where you will actively contribute to the preservation of native ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake on-ground conservation works across natural areas, bushland reserves, and council-managed tracks
  • Promote and support native vegetation growth through maintenance, and regeneration activities
  • Application of herbicides for effective weed management
  • Work on a variety of council projects focused on ecosystem protection and rehabilitation
  • Monitor and maintain environmental health across designated sites
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with environmental best practices

About You

You are reliable, physically fit, and enjoy working outdoors in a variety of environments. You take pride in contributing to meaningful environmental outcomes and are comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Essential Requirements

  • Current Construction Induction Card (White Card)
  • Current Driver’s Licence (desirable)
