About the role:

This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. One day you might be coordinating a major adoption event, the next you could be recruiting volunteers, building corporate partnerships, or working with community groups to spread the word about GAP.

GAP is looking for an energetic and organised Events & Volunteer Manager to lead the delivery of adoption events, community activations, and volunteer programs that help retired greyhounds find loving homes.

This role requires flexibility in working hours, including some weekend event work.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and delivering adoption days, community activations, education sessions, and corporate events.
  • Managing our wonderful volunteer base as they support day to day GAP operations and help run our events.

  • Recruiting, training, supporting and celebrating an incredible volunteer network
  • Building relationships with businesses, councils, community and corporate groups
  • Creating engaging volunteer and event experiences that support Greyhound adoption outcomes
  • Coordinating logistics, schedules, venues, suppliers and event operations
  • Working closely with marketing to drive attendance and community engagement.

What we are looking for:

  • 2+ years’ experience in event coordination, volunteer management, community engagement or similar role
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • A confident communicator who enjoys working with people and animals
  • Some who is proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused
  • A team player who can also work independently
  • A genuine passion for animal welfare and community impact
