Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a 6-month contract as a Housing Options Officer; you are responsible for providing trauma informed service delivery to customers who are experiencing homelessness and other customers needing alternative housing options. The Housing Options Officer provides service and advice in order to guide customers to the most appropriate housing program for them.

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to;

  • Assessing customer’s housing needs
  • Referring customers to appropriate social supports
  • Supporting customers to access the private rental market
  • Assessing Social Housing Applications
  • Working with customers through the social and affordable application process

 

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN YOU

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in the Housing or Welfare Sector
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering Trauma Informed Practice service delivery in the social services sector
  • Experience in maintaining compliance and quality management processes. 
  • Experience in interviewing and assessing customers’ eligibility for housing assistance such as homelessness services, private rental products and social housing assistance. 
  • Experience with processing housing applications through HOMES and TRIM is desirable. 
  • Reliable vehicle and a NSW driver’s licence.
