The role:
As an Actuarial Pricing Lead you will leverage your knowledge of Actuarial pricing techniques to lead pricing strategy, portfolio performance analysis, and predictive modelling initiatives across our property products.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver portfolio performance monitoring, profitability analysis, and pricing recommendations.
- Development and management of pricing models and rating algorithms.
- Use advance actuarial pricing techniques such as GLMs and Machine Learning to deliver technical risk models.
- Collaborate with underwriting and product teams to deliver data driven insights to senior stakeholders.
- Partner with underwriting to support the development of new products and enhancements.
- Writing and maintaining well documented code, managing deployment and staging environments.
- Portfolio management and regular monitoring of market trends.
- Mentor and develop junior team members.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years Actuarial, Data Science/Engineering, Statistics or equivalent in the General Insurance industry.
- Core Actuarial pricing skills, analytical data interpretation and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven leadership or people management experience preferred.
Software and skills:
- Experience in Databricks, Snowflake or equivalent platforms.
- Proficient in scripting in SQL and Python.
- Working in Cloud infrastructure – AWS, Marketplace
- Modelling software tools and packages such as Emblem, H2O and Machine Learning.
