About the OpportunityÌý

We areÌýseekingÌýexperienced and compassionate female Support Workers to join our Accommodation Services team in Warners Bay (Newcastle) on a permanent part-timeÌýbasis.ÌýYouÌýwill provide person-centred support to women living in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) home for people with Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS).Ìý

This role requires a strong understanding of professional boundaries, positive behaviour support, active supportÌýpracticesÌýand the importance ofÌýmaintainingÌýa structured and consistentÌýenvironment.ÌýAsÌýthe service supports female residents only, being female is a genuine occupational requirement of this position.ÌýÌý

In this role you will support participants with daily living activities, personal care, community participation, skill development, health and wellbeing and the achievement of individual goals.ÌýYou will work collaboratively with families and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality, person-centred supports.ÌýÌý

To be successful you will:ÌýÌý

• Have experience supporting people with disability, particularly within Supported Independent Living (SIL) environments.Ìý
• Demonstrate resilience, patience and a calm approach when supporting complex needs.Ìý
• Willingness toÌýassistÌýwith personal care as needed.Ìý
• Be committedÌýtoÌýpromotingÌýindependence,ÌýchoiceÌýand dignity.Ìý
• Work flexibly across a variety of shifts, including short shifts, weekends, public holidays, sleepovers, and active wake shifts.Ìý
• Contribute positively to a team environment and work independently whenÌýrequired.Ìý
• HaveÌýstrong communicationÌýskills,ÌýmaintainÌýaccurateÌýdocumentation, and use Microsoft Office confidently.Ìý
• Work effectively and follow support plans and organisational procedures.Ìý
• BeÌýreliable,ÌýaccountableÌýand committed to providing high-quality support.Ìý

ÌýCandidate RequirementsÌýÌý

• ProficiencyÌýin Microsoft Office.Ìý
• Excellent communication skills.Ìý
• Certificate III, Certificate IV, or Diploma in Disability/Community Services (or related field)Ìý
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates (or willingness to obtain before employment)Ìý
• A valid driver’s licenceÌý
• A comprehensively insured and registered vehicleÌý
• A valid NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)Ìý
