About the RoleÌý
We are seeking experienced Youth Workers to support children and young people living in Out-of-Home Care (OOHC) with our partnerÌýorganisation, Interactive Community Care (ICCare). You will be employed by Lumiere Foundation and work onsite withÌýICCare’sÌýresidential care services.Ìý
In this role, you will help young people build life skills,Ìýconfidence,Ìýand resilience whileÌýmaintainingÌýa safe,Ìýstructured,Ìýand supportive environment.Ìý

Key ResponsibilitiesÌý
- Provide day-to-day care and supervision in a residential setting, ensuring young people are safe andÌýsupported at all times.Ìý
- Support young people to build independent living skills, dailyÌýroutines,Ìýand positive social communication.Ìý
- Implement individual care plans based on each young person’s needs,Ìýabilities,Ìýand goals.Ìý
- MaintainÌýaccurateÌýdocumentation, caseÌýnotes,Ìýand incident reports in line with policy and procedure.Ìý
- Encourage participation in recreational and community activities that build confidence and life skills.Ìý
- Provide emotional support and intervene appropriately duringÌýbehaviouralÌýor crisis situations.Ìý
What You’ll BringÌý

Qualifications DiplomaÌýin Youth Work, Community Services, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, orÌýrelatedÌýfield.Ìý

Experience:ÌýPreviousÌýworkÌýexperienceÌýwith young people in residential OOHC or a similar care setting isÌýrequired.Ìý

Practice knowledge:ÌýStrong understanding of trauma-informed care and the needs of young people in residential environments.Ìý

Communication Requirements:ÌýDemonstratedÌýwritten documentation skills and EnglishÌýproficiencyÌýfor professional case notes, reports and verbal communication are essential.Ìý

Interpersonal skills:ÌýAble to build rapport, communicate calmly, and model positiveÌýbehaviourÌýthat promotes independence.Ìý

Teamwork & resilience:ÌýConfident working independently and within a fast-paced, dynamic team.Ìý

- Licensing & transport: Current Australian driver’sÌýlicenceÌýand reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance.Ìý
- Availability forÌýa varietyÌýof different shifts over a fortnightly roster (day/evening/sleepover/weekend).Ìý
