We are looking for passionate, relationship-focused Youth and Family Workers to join our team supporting young people experiencing homelessness and complex life challenges in our Ruby’s programme.Ìý

Ruby’s supports young people aged 12–17 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness due to family conflict or relationship breakdowns. The service works with both young people and their parents or caregivers to improve relationships, strengthen communication, and support safe reunification whereÌýappropriate.Ìý

This isÌýan opportunity to walk alongside young people as they build independence, reconnect with community, strengthen relationships, and create lasting change.Ìý

What You’ll be DoingÌý

  • Supporting young people to access safe, stable housingÌý
  • Building trusted relationships that promote empowerment and self-determinationÌý
  • BeÌýapartÌýof a team that delivers therapeutic interventions, crisis support, counselling, and case managementÌýÌý
  • Advocating for young people’s rights, needs, education, employment, and wellbeingÌý
  • Supporting independent living skills and healthy routinesÌý
  • Creating opportunities for social inclusion and community connectionÌý
  • Working collaboratively with families, services, schools, and external stakeholdersÌý
  • MaintainingÌýaccurateÌýcase notes, reports, and risk documentationÌý
  • Contributing to a positive, respectful, and supportive team cultureÌý

About YouÌý

You are someone who:Ìý

  • Leads with empathy, professionalism, and authenticityÌý
  • Certificate IV in Youth Work or the equivalent / Diploma of Youth Work.ÌýÌý
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with youth and families in a community-based setting.Ìý
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.ÌýÌý
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.ÌýÌý
  • A current Provide First Aid Certificate (St Johns Ambulance or approved equivalent) must be obtained beforeÌýcommencingÌýemployment.ÌýÌý
