About the role We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to join our team at our Haberfield location in NSW. This is a full-time position where you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our café, pasticceria and restaurant environment, ensuring exceptional customer experiences and maintaining the highest standards of service. As Restaurant Manager, you will play a crucial role in upholding Pasticceria Papa’s reputation for quality, hospitality and operational excellence. You will lead a dedicated team, manage financial performance and ensure our venue remains a cherished destination for our community.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee all daily restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations
- Lead, train, mentor and supervise front-of-house and back-of-house staff to deliver exceptional customer service consistently
- Manage staff scheduling, rosters and performance management to maintain optimal service levels
- Monitor and control costs, including food, beverages and labour, to achieve budgeted financial targets
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation throughout the restaurant and café areas
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints and feedback professionally, resolving issues promptly to ensure satisfaction
- Manage inventory, stock rotation and ordering of supplies in coordination with the kitchen and administrative teams
- Implement and maintain quality control standards for food and beverage service
- Contribute to the development and execution of marketing initiatives and promotions to drive customer engagement and revenue
- Build strong relationships with regular customers whilst maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all guests
- Liaise with senior management on operational matters, performance metrics and strategic improvements
What we’re looking for
- Proven 3-5 years of experience as a Restaurant Manager or similar hospitality management role in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate, develop and manage teams effectively
- Excellent customer service skills with a genuine passion for delivering exceptional hospitality experiences
- Valuable understanding of P&L management, budgeting and cost control in a food and beverage setting
- Knowledge of food safety, health and hygiene regulations and best practices
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and restaurant management software
- Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays and varying shifts as required
- A passion and knowledge for Italian culture, food and hospitality (preferred)
- Relevant hospitality qualifications or certifications (preferred)
- A valid RSA is required
- Wine and cocktails knowledge (preferred)
- First Aid certificate (preferred)
