🔄 About the Role:
An employee at this level works under general direction. Operates within established routines, methods, standards and procedures and is expected to exercise initiative in the application of established work procedures. They are responsible for managing time, planning and organising their own work.Ìý
An employee at this level may be required to supervise lower classified employees in their day-to-day work.Ìý
•ÌýProvide daily care, supervision, and support to young people in line with their Care Plan, Positive Behaviour Support Plan, Safety Plan, Hope and Healing framework and under the instruction of management.
• Provide support to young people who may have physical, intellectual and/or mental health related disabilities as well as traumaÌý
• Empower clients to recognise their abilities, achieve their goals and maintain independence with life skills, routines, personal care, and household tasks
• Build positive relationships within professional boundaries
• Support emotional regulation, education, community and recreational activities
• Manage conflict resolution through use of de-escalation strategies.Ìý
• Support behaviour and therapeutic strategies
• Respond calmly to crisis situations and challenging behaviours
• Monitor the safety and wellbeing of clients and complete accurate documentation and shift reportsÌýof the individuals’ progress.Ìý
• Actively contribute to a team environment through open communication, participation in meetings and planning processes.
• Ensure a safe and culturally appropriate environment
• Always maintain client privacy and confidentiality
•Ability to support young people where they are living in a Red Centre Support Services operated residential home
•Ability to complete outreach work where you may need to initiate contact with young people where they are located, whether in a public space or where they are living.Ìý

💼ÌýMandatoryÌýRequirements:
•ÌýCompleted or currently undertaking a minimumÌýCertificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential Care) or similar
• Hope and HealingÌý
• Positive Behaviour Support and Managing High-Risk Behaviours: A Hope and Healing Masterclass
•CurrentÌýQueensland Blue Card (Working With Children Check)Ìýor willing to obtainÌý
•Current Driver’s Licence
• National Police CheckÌý(Obtained within last 3 months)
