The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Software Engineer with around 3+ years of industry experience to build and improve the applications, integrations, and platform services that support production, research, field trials, and day-to-day engineering operations.

You’ll work across C++ and Python, developing in Linux-based environments to deliver reliable internal tools, radar-based applications, APIs, and automations — enabling radars and teams across Silentium to work efficiently and with confidence.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving real-world problems, collaborating across disciplines, and building well-engineered solutions that have direct operational impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop internal tools, radar-based applications, APIs, automations, and integrations
  • Build and maintain C++, Python, and Linux-based services
  • Improve software quality through testing, documentation, code reviews
  • Work closely with Research, Production, Project and Field Trial teams to understand user needs
  • Contribute to technical decisions, architecture discussions, and delivery planning
  • Help improve tooling, workflows, and internal engineering efficiency
  • Troubleshoot and support internal systems to ensure reliability and uptime
  • Participate in field trials to perform real-world testing and facilitate knowledge transfer

What Success Looks Like

  • Deliver stable, maintainable well-tested and well-documented code
  • Improve internal systems and reduce support burden through better tooling and automation
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers, scientists, and operations teams
  • Communicate clearly, document appropriately, and close out work reliably
  • Demonstrate curiosity, ownership, and willingness to grow

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or other relevant industry
  • 3 + years of experience as a software engineer
  • Proficiency with C++ and Python (or similar languages)
  • Familiarity with Linux environments and command-line tooling
  • Experience with APIs, integrations, or data-driven services
  • Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working with ambiguity
  • Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A mindset focused on reliability, maintainability, and continuous improvement

Employment Eligibility

    • Applicants must be an Australian citizen and have ability to obtain and maintain an AGSVA Security Clearance, with a minimum requirement of NV1 clearance.
    • Candidates must also meet ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) requirements.
