Position Summary
Tangentyere Council
Aboriginal Corporation (TCAC) is a community controlled Public Benevolent
Institution delivering human services and social enterprise activities for the
benefit of Aboriginal people from the Alice Springs Town Camps, urban Alice
Springs, and Central Australia.
The Remote Australia Employment
Services (RAES) program helps jobseekers in remote communities by providing a
flexible employment service that supports them to upskill, find pathways to
work and contribute to their local community. Using RAES funding, Tangentyere
Council has created Work Experience to Employment program.
The Work Experience to Employment
program is a short-term paid placement designed to build employability skills,
explore career pathways, and prepare for sustainable employment. Working under
the guidance of the Training and Work Experience Placement Consultant, the Work
Experience Placement Team Member contributes to day-to-day workplace tasks and
participates in accredited and non-accredited learning activities. The role
supports a safe and respectful workplace, follows organisational policies and
procedures, and works to identify and address barriers that may impact future
employment. Throughout the placement, the participant is supported to build
confidence, work habits, and transferable skills, and to identify suitable
ongoing employment opportunities to apply for.
As part
of your role, you will be working with children, people with a disability and
people who are vulnerable. It is your obligation to always ensure their safety
and report any concerns in line with our duty of care obligations. We have zero
tolerance when it comes to abuse of any kind and will take disciplinary action,
including and up to termination of employment, should we determine that abuse
has taken place or there has been a failure to report any suspected or alleged
