About The Cairnmillar Institute

The Cairnmillar Institute is a not-for-profit provider of psychological services and higher education, with a 65+ year history of supporting mental health and training the next generation of practitioners. We deliver clinical services, short courses, vocational training and accredited postgraduate programs in psychology, counselling and psychotherapy.

About the Role

Be part of this innovative program working with psychologists in post-graduate courses in Psychology (including Clinical Psychology), and working closely with the larger PC team, the Placement Coordinator will:

  • Engage with professional and community agencies
  • Co-ordinate and secure placements for students
  • Provide supervision to prepare our graduates to provide high quality clinical psychological services.Ìý
  • Contribute to teaching, research and student supervision within the Institute if desired.

This is an academic Level B or Level C position, depending on experience, suited to an early-to-mid-career academic or clinician-educator seeking to expand their leadership in postgraduate clinical training.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Masters or Doctoral degree in Psychology
  • Registration with AHPRA
  • Board Approved Clinical Supervisor qualification
  • Ability to establish partnerships
  • Ability to provide clear guidance and feedback to placement students in the context of individual and group supervision
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Exceptional organisational skills
