About the roleÌý

We are seeking a Conservation Program Manager to lead the delivery of Trust for Nature’s core conservation programsÌýwithinÌýtheÌýNorth EastÌýregionÌýof Victoria.ÌýÌý

ThisÌýrole is integral in the delivery of Trust for Nature’s key conservation programs including the Covenanting, Stewardship, Offsets, Revolving Fund, and BushBank Programs. Reporting to the Area Manager, the primary focus of the role is to deliver the Stewardship Program in the Goulburn-BrokenÌýcatchment, this involves working closely with existing landholders and potential new conservation covenantors. Ìý

The role requires familiarity with conservation and land management principles, as well as Victoria’s Ecological Vegetation Classes, flora and fauna and will be tasked with providing expert advice on conservation and land management practices.Ìý

Regular fieldwork and travel across the region are core requirements of the role.Ìý

What’sÌýon offerÌý

This is an ongoing Part-time 0.8 FTE position.ÌýOur workplace is supportive of Flexible work and work from home arrangements.ÌýÌý

The role offers a base salary of $90,606 p.a., plus 12 % super ($72,484.8 pro rata for 0.8 FTE).ÌýÌý

The role will be based in theÌýGoulburn-BrokenÌýarea and involves regular travel throughoutÌýNorth EastÌýregion. A validÌýdriversÌýlicenceÌýisÌýrequired.ÌýThe local office is based inÌýWangarattaÌýand office attendance will be a regular part of this role.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý

ÌýAbout youÌý

You are a conservation professional with strong ecological knowledge, practical field experience, and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders. You bring sound judgement,Ìýstrong communicationÌýskills, and the ability to manage complex landholder relationships.Ìý

You will also bring;Ìý

• At least 5 years of field-work experienceÌý

• Degree in natural resource management, ecology, or other environmental scienceÌý

• Strong understanding of land management practices including relevant Victorian legislation, and understanding of Ecological Vegetation Communities, flora and fauna, common threats, and recommended management actions.Ìý

• DemonstratedÌýability to manage and work through complex issues, andÌýutilizeÌýexcellent time management skills and flexibility to reprioritiseÌýwork load.Ìý

• Experience negotiating with a range of stakeholders including land managers.ÌýÌý

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing.Ìý

• Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce is desirableÌý

• A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel regularly across the regionÌýÌý

In this role, your work will directly support the long-term protection and management of Victoria’s private land, contributing to meaningful conservation outcomes across the landscape.Ìý
