Position summaryÌý

The Technical LeadÌýis responsible forÌýshaping and designing Willyama Services’ managed service andÌýdeliverÌýproject solutions through the full pre-salesÌýlifecycle – discovery, solution architecture, pricing input, risk and assumptions, and tender/proposal responses.ÌýThe role provides technical leadership and governance for the internal MSS andÌýEngineering teams, supporting standardisation, uplift initiatives, and quality outcomes across both customer and internal environments.ÌýInÌýaddition,Ìýthe role partners closely with Sales, Delivery, MSS operations, and Engineering teams to translate clientÌýobjectivesÌýinto clear, deliverable solutions aligned to Willyama’s service catalogue, security obligations, and operational capabilities.Ìý

Responsibilities:Ìý

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Engineering and MSS team members to build capability andÌýretainÌýtalentÌý
  • Oversee technicalÌýpre-sales discovery with clients to understand requirements, constraints, security needs, and success criteria for managed services and project opportunitiesÌý
  • DesignÌýtechnical solutionsÌýthat are deliverable within Willyama’s capabilities
  • Own solution documentation for bids/tenders/proposals, including architecture diagrams (as attachments), scope, assumptions, dependencies, risks, and acceptance criteria
  • Work with Sales andÌýOperations to develop inputs to pricing, effort estimates, service models, transition approaches, and operational runbooks
  • Provide technical leadership and governance across internal MSS and engineering teams, including standards, patterns, and quality assurance
  • Manage priorities across pre-sales support, internal uplift initiatives, and customer commitments in collaboration with Sales andÌýDelivery
  • Establish andÌýmaintainÌýteam ways of working (standards, tooling, documentation, peer review) and act as an escalation point for complex technical issuesÌýimpactingÌýMSSÌýand EngineeringÌýoperations
  • Support smooth handover from pre-sales to delivery/operations by ensuring solution artefacts, scope, and assumptions are clear; drive continuous improvement of the MSS service catalogue and solution templatesÌý

Knowledge,ÌýskillsÌýand experience:Ìý

  • Proven ability to lead, coach and develop teamsÌý
  • Strong understanding of MSS/managed services operating models (SLAs, ITIL processes, monitoring, incident/problem/change,ÌýcapacityÌýand availability)
  • Strong technical breadth across enterprise environments (e.g., Microsoft, networking, cloud, security) with the ability to design pragmatic, supportable solutions
  • Demonstrated experience in pre-sales solution architecture and solution shaping for managed services and/or complex IT engagements
  • Experience contributing to tenders, proposals, statements of work, and technical responses
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including the ability to present solutions to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing technical teams (Engineering and/or Managed Services)
  • Current NV1 clearance or the ability to obtain
  • Experience delivering or solutioning for Federal Government and/or Defence environments (highly desirable)
  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft, ITIL, security) (desirable)Ìý
