We are seeking a seasoned Human Resources Manager to take ownership of the people function for a 100+ employee workforce operating across three states. In this hands-on leadership role, you will set the HR direction while delivering the core operational services needed to support a fast-growing disability services organisation.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will be the key point of escalation for people matters and provide trusted advice to leaders. You’ll drive workforce and HR compliance, and you’ll also roll up your sleeves to keep day-to-day HR running smoothly—particularly when hiring activity peaks or additional coverage is required.

About the Role

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will lead the People & Culture function and ensure we have the right people in place, supported well, and aligned with our values.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will oversee HR operations, recruitment, and workforce readiness, while guiding leaders and supporting a positive, accountable culture.

You’ll work closely with our Talent Acquisition Specialist and Recruiter, staying actively involved in hiring when needed to keep things moving.

Key Responsibilities

Workforce Planning & Leadership

  • Partner with the CEO and leadership team to align workforce strategy with business needs
  • Provide practical HR advice to support decision-making
  • Monitor workforce trends including gaps, turnover and capability
  • Drive a consistent and values-led approach to people leadership

Recruitment & Workforce Readiness

  • Oversee end-to-end recruitment and hiring priorities
  • Support and guide the Talent Acquisition team
  • Stay hands-on when required (screening, interviews, onboarding)
  • Ensure onboarding is smooth, compliant and efficient
  • Continuously improve recruitment processes and outcomes

Employee Experience & Culture

  • Foster a positive, respectful and connected workplace
  • Support engagement, wellbeing and retention initiatives
  • Strengthen team cohesion and accountability

Employee Relations & Performance

  • Guide leaders through performance management and conduct matters
  • Manage complex employee relations issues and investigations
  • Ensure issues are handled fairly, consistently and professionally

Compliance & Risk

  • Ensure compliance with Fair Work, SCHADS Award and NDIS requirements
  • Oversee workforce documentation, screening and audit readiness
  • Manage workforce risks including WorkCover and return-to-work processes

Systems & Reporting

  • Manage HR systems (91±¬ÁÏ and ATS)
  • Track and analyse workforce data to inform decisions
  • Improve systems and processes for efficiency

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships across leadership and operational teams
  • Partner with Service Delivery teams to meet workforce needs
  • Liaise with external stakeholders including regulators and advisors

About You

You are a practical, kind, hands-on HR leader who thrives in fast-paced and growing environments.

Key Experience

  • Strong generalist HR experience across the full employee lifecycle
  • Experience leading or mentoring a small team
  • Proven capability managing employee relations and investigations
  • Sound knowledge of Australian employment law and Fair Work
  • Experience with workers compensation and return-to-work processes
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience using HR systems (91±¬ÁÏ highly regarded)

Highly Regarded

  • Experience in the NDIS or community services sector
  • Knowledge of SCHADS Award and NDIS Quality & Safeguards

Hours For This Role –

Monday: 9:15am – 1pm 

Tuesday: 9:15am – 4:00pm 

Wednesday:  9:15am – 5pm 

Thursday: 9:15am – 12:30pm

Friday: 9:15am – 2:30pm
