Fire Alarm Engineer – Central London

8:00am–4:30pm | Competitive salary + overtime | Company van or travel expenses

Polyteck Building Services is looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to work across client sites in London, carrying out planned maintenance, servicing, testing, fault finding, remedial works and small installations.

What you’ll be doing

  • Carry out PPM, servicing and testing of fire alarm systems
  • Test and maintain emergency lighting systems
  • Complete fault finding and remedial works
  • Carry out 1st and 2nd fix fire alarm installation works
  • Support commissioning and software programming where required
  • Attend reactive callouts and complete works efficiently
  • Complete certification, job sheets and site records accurately
  • Work in accordance with BS 5839, BS 5266 and Health & Safety requirements
  • Liaise professionally with clients, tenants and site teams

What we’re looking for

Essential

  • Proven fire alarm servicing and maintenance experience
  • Experience with fire alarm installation, fault finding and remedial works
  • Knowledge of BS 5839 and BS 5266
  • Emergency lighting experience
  • Ability to work independently across multiple sites
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Legal right to work in the UK

Desirable

  • Fire alarm commissioning or software programming experience
  • Industry-recognised fire alarm training
  • Asbestos Awareness, IPAF or PASMA
